Subject: Menu ideas wanted for an 80s Dinner Party
Written By: twinmum on 09/16/03 at 02:00 p.m.
Hello. I'm in a "Gourmet Club" which gets together for theme dinners. I'd love to do an Eighties Dinner. I have the music but so far can only think of Brie and Fruit Fondue as menu items.
Can anyone help me with ideas for menu items (main, sides, appetizers, desserts) that were popular at dinner parties of the 80s?
Thanks!!

Well, there is one that is a must if you are doing anything with an 80's theme, that is Quiche.
That was like the ultimate in yuppie cliche food back then.

Prepare a fantastic dinner of really expensive food then drink a lot of booze, do a few lines of coke and not eat.
Now that was an 80's dinner!
OK ok, Nouveau Cuisine was real popular. Highly stylized dishes with miniscule portions.
