Anyone remember the TV series?
It's kinda fuzzy but Dracula was this rich blond guy, and the only people who were really aware of what the hell was going on were these two kids, who although were trying to "get him" were sometimes on a tolerable level with him. I think this is were the Alucard references came from.

I remember it, it was called Dracula: The Series. Mia Kirshner played the girl. The show was short lived, and it actually came out in 1990,. I also think it was made outside of the U.S. in England, Australia, or possibly Canada. It just had that feeling of being a series made in the U.K. or Oz.
I remember the grandfather or uncle Van Helsing had a cross that would instantly zap any vampires that tried to get into their house.
Try imdb, type in "Dracula" and see if the TV series which was made in 1990 is there.
