Subject: help!! i cant find that movie

i am trying to find an 80's movie, one scene i think its the ending of the movie, a guy with black hair and i think he was wearing a black leather jacket. he was standing on a really long escalator going up.
also he was in a car, an old car racing with a bad guy. they started kicking the door to get jump out so they would not die in the cliff but the guy with the black jacket did not make it. there is also an old man with a motocycle. the guy with the black jacket came back as an angel for a younger guy who was going to make the same mistake like him some time in the movie he made the younger guy cooler :o :'( please help me i need this movie

yup I remember that one...it turns out that the dead guy is the kids father...
