Hi, I'm working on a film project (to be set in the late eighties and early 90s on the West coast) and while I've found tons of sites describing what clothing was popular at the time, I'm having a hard time finding any pictures. Does anyone know of any website that might have any images of late 80s/early 90s fashion, (or shots from old magazines) or know of any good books I could look at? Anything would be helpful. Thanks!

Thanks--I hadn't seen that image before. I've found some bands and stuff from the time, but its actually harder than I thought to find your average person from that time period. i'll keep looking for other pics-i know some libraries carry old magazines so maybe thats the best way to find pics of regular people from then. thanks for the image though! ;D

This probably doesn't help much, but maybe go to an antique store or a thrift store and try to find an old JCPenney catalog.

this might be difficult for us to help you because there were many people dressing in different ways, such as the heavy metal type of people with the bad long hair, people from the punk movement, the madonna's style followers and many more. it really depends on what you're looking for.

Try fleamarkets or libraries for old yearbooks, or just ask around.
