Subject: trapper keepers
Does anyone know if they still make these??? I loved trapper keepers! They are definitely 80"s memorabilia. ;)

They sort of do. As a teacher, I run into the new versions. They are really the same thing but with cloth on the outside. They also completely zipper up rather using velcro like trappers used to have. These new incarnations last longer but don't have the wild print designs on them that trappers had.

I dont remember the 80s. Aint old enough. I remember having my neon colored Trapper Keeper in 1994 in elementary school. I put all kinds all kinds of weird junk in it. I found it recently. The date on it is 1990.

i remember trapper keepers. omg they would make so much noise just to open it up! darn velcro, then the snap noise to put your 3 hold paper inside. watch your fingers when closing. hurts like hell if you get pinched

the bindings seemed to always split. i had reems of paper from all of my classes stuffed beyond capacity. at the end of the year i would find homework assignments that i got in trouble for for not handing in.
i used to doodle all over mine; usually metal band logos and skulls and other assorted demented teen stuff. i once had a teacher compliment me on my sketch of eddy (iron maiden eddy that is) that covered my trapper keeper.

I had a Trapper as an elementary student in the mid-90s. Pretty much everyone in my class did. I think mine was predominently pinkish/purple. I might even have it somewhere at home. Uggggh and those wireless neatbooks! They were nice because there was no wire to snag my shirts (which frequently happened to me), but they always fell apart!
I don't know if Trappers are still made in their original form. It would be hilarious if they did, though.

Are the wireless neatbooks the notebooks that have the black edges and are perforrated rather than spiral? I hate those because I like to bend the books back and, yes, they fell apart! That's why I prefer perforated spiral notebooks. I don't know if they still make the hardcover Trappers anymore, but I use one of the zipper ones with the cloth (already mentioned). They are very nice and keep me organized (kind of).

I loved them as well. I go on the search every now and then. I do agree with you, definitely 80's memorabilia.
