Subject: chinese jacks

Written By: luv2havefun on 08/09/03 at 01:08 p.m.

I am not even sure if this is appropriate for the 80's topics, HOWEVER . . .

I bought some chinese jacks the other day and I know how to pick them up, but darn it! I just can't remember how to play and the box didn't have directions because if was "jewelry links" with the option of playing jacks.

Can anyone help out ?

I've never heard of chinese jacks before.  Are they anything like the old fashioned jacks with a ball?

Well, not really.  You kinda play them similarly, but there is no ball.  The "jacks" are rings (six to eight rings on a ring to make a ring of rings?)  I just don't remember.  As you pick up one and throw it into the air you pick up to, then three, then four.  You don't have to pick up and catch somethiing.  If you hear anything, let me know.

I remember exactly how to play. I played every day for about three years then taught the kids I babysat how to play. I'll trade this precious knowledge for information about where I can buy them. 8)  I've found one place on line but they seemed pricey.

Honestly, I have found them at Albertson's Grocery store and small drug stores like thrifty/Rite Aide or Sav-on.  I found them in the party isle, like where you would get squirt guns and water balloons.  Good luck!

I found them in Washington state and California.  I hope this helps.
