Subject: Anybody have any 80s arcade pics?
I was wondering if anybody out there had any pics of 80 arcades. Here is a pretty good one I found a while back
http://members.cox.net/jmccorm/pics/funterminal1.jpg
I would love to see some more.
I recently updated my personal arcade game page which is here http://www.krakboi.com/arcades/arcadegames.htm
Some day I hope to get my games into a finished room and give it that 80s arcade feel, so any pics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks for the trip down memory lane with those arcade game plaques! :D Alas, I don't have any pics of any arcades though. Did you ever try a Google Image search?

hey, you have a great website, thanks for sharing!
Go to link below and type "arcade game", "video arcade", arcade games etc:
http://www.corbis.com
Also the google image search was a great suggestion. Try also yahoo image search, altavista etc. Just type "video arcade", "arcade game", "arcade games" etc in the image search box
http://images.google.com/images?q=%22video+arcade%22&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=no
http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=%22video+arcade%22&ei=UTF-8
http://www.altavista.com/image/default
I found others at:

(space invaders 80)

I know there are others arcade websites that has pics, but that would be rip-off so maybe the image databases are the best suggestion. I'm not sure if you can use these in your website, but at least corbis & rexfeatures
have a watermark, so I guess wouldn't be any problem.
Hope this helps!

Wow, what a wonderful job you've done restoring all those classic arcade games!
Most of those games you can get on a CD for a Playstation 2 these days.
But it isn't the same as playing an actual cabinet game.
I loves the games Snake Pit, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Venture!
Those are my recommendations for adding to your collection!
And Crazy Climber too! Carnival, Q-Bert, Dragon's Lair, hell, the memories of these classic games are flooding back!
And Cliff Hanger!

i have used google image search in the past, but the others are new to me. i will give them a shot. there are classic arcade game forums similar to this one out there that i frequent quite a bit, and you would be surprised by the lack of 80s arcade game photos out there. i am hoping that maybe somebody out there has some pictures from a birthday party that they had at an arcade, or some sort of family amusement center with classic games.
yes, there are many ways to play these games without owning the actual arcade version, but like you said, it is not the same (for me anyway). it sure would take up a lot less space though!!!
thanks for the suggestions, and the kind words about the arcade games and website. i appreciate it.

I like MAME for giving games a test run to see if I like them or not, but I am into the arcade games for the nostalgia, and a lot of that has to do with the game's artwork. Also, the games rarely play true to the originals.
I can see why some like to use MAME, especially since these things take up a lot of room, but it really is no subsitute for the real thing.

The best thing is that I never have to put in quarters.( ;D)
