Subject: The Musical Chess -- One Night In Bangkok
I love this muscial!
I wish the British cast came to Broadway so I could have seen them!
The USA cast killed the show.
I wish this would be made into a film!
And the instrumental opening of One Night In Bangkok? Great!
I have a copy of the videotape with the five music videos of Chess on it. It is a tape called Chess Moves!
Release the tape on DVD! With lots of extras!

I remember the song One Night In Bangkok by Murry Head. I loved that sone even though I had no /i] idea what it was about.
It was quite a while later that I found out it was a musical. I used to have a tape copy of one of the casts. It had some interesting songs, but it was very confusing since I had no context to put them into never having seen the musical itself.

I have the Broadway (US) version on CD. I have heard that the London cast was much better. I really should try to locate that. I do love the song "One night in Bangkok" (the reason for buying the CD). I do have the Murray Head verison of that song. on another CD. I liked the song when it was on the top 40 back in 1984/5 (?).
I heard that they banned the song in Bangkok-don't know how true that is.
But of course it was Tim Rice-how could it be anything but good? ;)

I agree that a lot of British musicals get lost in the translation with Broadway cast and producers. And Canadian actress/model Louise Robey loused up the superior original version of ONIB. :-/
