My mother and grandmother were huge fans of the soaps, so they had me watching from when I was just a kid!  ;D The Young and The Restless was my mom's fave, while my grandmother's fave "stories" were The Doctors, Days of Our Lives and Another World. A few of the good ones that have since been cancelled: The Edge of Night, Ryan's Hope, Capitol, Search for Tomorrow and Santa Barbara.

I used to be hooked on Days of our Lives.  Back in the days of Patch and Kayla and Shane and Kim.  Bo and Hope were big, too.  Jen was still a teenager...Grandpa Horton was still alive.  I miss DOOL of the 80's.

I remember watching Dallas, Dynasty, and Falcon Crest as a child.  I remember the reruns of Dark Shadows.  They seemed so spooky to me as a kid.  :D Did anyone watch Knot's Landing?  Or the daytime soap Santa Barbara?  I currently watch The Bold and the Beautiful which began in '87.

Me too,Digitales.Dynasty and Dallas both were the only TV soaps I really liked.Especially that latter one.Who can forget that legendary Dynasty's Alexis role played by ever charming Joan Collins(the original witch of all TV soaps btw)at all.
And that early Santa Barbara episodes were great as well.

I am not a huge fan of soaps (except occasionally watching Bold and the Beautiful :-[) but during the 80s I was hooked on Santa Barbara - I used to love that show.

Not too sure if this was a soap. Does anyone remember  Howard's Way?

It was about sailing or something. I know there was a boat called The Baracuda.

Typically eighties - shoulder pads and power suits. My mum loved it.

I began watching soaps when I was a new teen...remember Edge of Night?
I watched All My Children, One Life To Live and then General Hospital.
Now all I watch is GH..and I get razzed for it all the time!  Amazing all the changes that you see when you watch one show for so long, and some stars that came out of it, like Demi Moore!  And so many others.
I loved Dallas and Knots Landing, two of my fave nighttime soaps.
