Subject: 80's music pops up EVERYWHERE...
I went to Chuck E. Cheese today with my sister-n-law, her husband & my two nieces. In case some don't know, it's a pizza joint with little shows & lots of fun and games for the kiddies. During the little Chuck E. Cheese videos and shows, I heard 3 different songs by the Cars, and Gary Numan's Pop Music. Sung by cartoon characters no less!
I guess this could be viewed as a 'good' thing, since it's exposing impressionable children to 80's music. But on the other hand...some of my fave music was being mutilated by a huge stuffed mouse named Chuck E. Cheese..... ::) ???

It's always good when you hear an 80s song pop up where you least expect it... even if it is being mutilated by a giant animated mouse!!! ;D

For real...
Back in 1982/'83, when we were children, if we went to Chuck E Cheeses I think the characters were singing stuff from the 60's and our parents had the same reactions. To us then, what was it other then "oldies"? :o

When I went to see Kangaroo Jack not too long ago, they played Tainted Love by Soft Cell, and (duh) Downunder by Men At Work.

I was in Saks Fifth Avenue a couple of weeks ago and they were playing Joe Jackson. It didn't occur to me right away how unusual it was.
I'm still waiting for Depeche Mode's Master and Servant to be adapted to Muzak. ;D

Ohhhhhh my ears!!!!!!!! Noooooooo!!!!!!!! I don't think that would sound good at all!!!! "Blasphemous Rumours" might, however. I think having your songs converted to muzak is...well...blasphemous...not a compliment! :P If I heard any Depeche Mode...or The Smiths...converted to muzak in a department store or whatever, I'd scream and run!!!!! :D
