Subject: 80's hair and make-up

Written By: LostLittleChik on 05/14/03 at 04:14 p.m.

Hey I love the 80's and wish i lived through them, people today suck (no offense) I'm only 14 so I never experienced them. Ya well getting on, I'm a little punker chik and I've been experimenting with my hair and I was wondering if you guys could help me out with some tips on hair and make-up, I've got a punk rock show on the 7th so I've gotta get some answers soon please!!!! I already have clothes under control (my specialty) I've got hair past my shoulders so I have trouble getting it up, any hairspray, gel, glue combos or anything will also help (liberty spikes are very difficult) any tips will be extremely helpful, THANK YOU!!!!

You might rent "Sid and Nancy" and then check these sites:

With longer hair, crimping it then backcombing it then using about 3 gallons of the strongest hairspray you can get usually does the trick !

Hang your head upside down when you're drying it first and then what Gis said.  I used to use strong hold gel in the roots as well

I remember people using egg whites to spike their hair.

some guys in my school are really into making their hair spike, and they have longer hair too, like, a foot long.  they use beeswax to make their hair spike good.  i also hear that Bedhead works too.  you can get that at the nearest pharmacy or department store.  hope this helps!

I do too. This is best way to get stiff spikes.  :)

I remember seeing a recipe in a magazine for how to keep your mohawk standing upright (I think it was for a two-foot mohawk), and it included things like eggs, glue, and hairspray. I don't remember what else.

The little chick from Bow Wow Wow was hot and she had a new wave cut, half of the head shaved with a waterfall covering the bald spot.  I'm sure the style is called something, anyway check the old video, "Children I wanna warn ya, ohhhhhho, cuz I've been to California ohhhhhhho, where Mickey Mouse is as big as a house"! :D
