Subject: 80s Clothes in Style Again
It's quite obvious to me that a lot of fashionable items in the 80s are also in style at the moment. Not any people think back to the 80s and think that the clothes were cool - but a lot of stuff is around now. I've seen all this stuff in the past few months:
Stone-washed jeans
Torn Jeans
Flat court shoes (I have a pair with a little butterfly design on them!)
Net/Mesh tops
Ra-Ra skirts
Neon colours
What have you guys noticed?

I couldn't believe it. The other night I was watching Fox news and the female anchor was wearing a bright blue t-shirt untucked with a thick black belt at her waist. I thought maybe she was channeling Pat Benatar or Joan Jett.

When I was flipping channels, I saw Mandy Moore wearing an off the shoulder sweater on some network.
Well, she also wore leg warmers in a music video last year.
(I think it was a Elton John video... and a HUGE error since the video was supposed to take place in the 1970's)
Subject: Re: 80s Clothes in Style Again
Oh no! Not the "stone-washed" jeans!!! Those & "acid-washed" jeans are major fashion NO-NO's!!!! Awful! >:(
::) (Oh lord, please don't let those "painter cover-alls" come back....PLEASE!!!!) :'(

Velour track suits
High, skinny heels worn w/ jeans
Skinny belts
And 80' trends brought back to life:
Thick, black lashes
Thick, goopy GLOSSED lips
I have hope now that Levi's will bring back their 505's and 512's! Tapered Leg! Tapered Leg!!
Forgot "Candies" shoes !!!

Lol! I can't wear any trousers that aren't slightly flared at the bottom, they just don't suit me.
'Housewife' style stiletto court shoes are also back. ( I want a pair of 'pointy' shoes - but I can't pull them off!)

Yes, its looking good again for some fashion looks. I even wore one of my rah rah skirts out to a club last Sat night! (Yes Criz, you know I have them!!) Ive also noticed some very cool polka dotted dresses with full skirts, very 50s-ish that also was in style in the 80s. Its about time!! Is it possible clothes are going to be FUN again like they were in the 80s? I hope the grunge 90s look is finally going to be put to a well deserved burial..

Hey Todd - Haven't seen you round here for a while! Yep - I know what your like with your ra-ra skirts ;D You know I don't think much to them! I prefer all the mini-combat style skirts that are around atm! Still - I love a lot of the 80s clothes, even if they're considered fashion 'no-no's' now!

Ooh - I hope not - that site is really good! Helped me a lot with research :)

Yes, sadly it is true. Yesterdayland.com has indeed shut down. And there are no immediate plans to start it up again. Like you, I also am going to miss that site a lot. One cool legacy that Yesterland.com has left me, is..Ive made alot of new friends who share my same interest in past decades' music and fashions. RIP Yesterdayland.com

I am only 15 and have always been into wearing 80's style fashions. Not only have I started most of the recent fashion trends at my school, but my clothes have been noticed by everyone for their originality. But I have a question, Is there any place online to find some good 80's style clothing? Also- Were arm warmers used at all?

Stores on Melrose in L.A. are selling alligator shirts for about $70. They even have used ones for $50. Anybody remember these?
Subject: Re: 80s Clothes in Style Again
I'm seeing lots of pink and green clothes in homage to 80s preppy style.

Heck yeah. I think the alligator used to be IZOD logo. Ralph Lauren started that logo thing with his Polo horse and rider design.
I swear I saw a Members Only jacket not too long ago. Those were fun; a zillion colors to choose from (mine was a be-yoo-tee-ful dusty pink). ;)
