Subject: Appetite for Distruction
Alright -
How many of you literally wore this cassette tape out like I did? How old were you and what was your fondest memory associated with it? What was your favorite song?
I was 12 when I got this tape and listened to it almost every single day until I turned 14. I remember that I was late getting into it. A friend actually gave me his copy of it because it had been out for a while. I would always have it playing in my room, on my walkman. I remember I had memorized every single lyric and would pretend that I was fronting the band and having a concert in my bedroom when noone was home. Wow, I just admitted that. :P My favorite song was "My Michelle" or "Rocket Queen". I loved that song, especially the ending.

Little known fact-- "Welcome to the Jungle" was released before "Sweet Child 'O Mine", but only to AOR radio. After the popularity of "Sweet Child..." on POP radio, "Jungle" was re-released to AOR AND POP radio.
Hmmm... I was well into my 20s & was lucky to get an advance promo copy of the album as a "test market" and thought they were the greatest thing since Vaseline-in-a-tube. Sadly, I got kind of burned out on them and sold that advance promo copy for $270 in 1992. My favorite track was definitely "Mr. Brownstone", which you definitely did NOT play on the radio in the 80s. 8)

They rocked.
I think I played the album "Lies" a little more because the tunes weren't overplayed.
