Subject: Favorite Def Leppard.....
Alright, considering the number of albums Def Leppard sold in the 80's, logic would tell me that there has to be a good number of Def Lep fans on this board. What was your favorite album - song and what period of your life does it conjour up memories of?
For me it is indeed Hysteria and the song would have to be "Pour some sugar on me". It reminds me of the summer of 88. I was 12 and it just seemed like such a great time. I lived in a small neighborhood and there were like 15 kids around my age. We would all just hang out every day and when this video first came out, we would all congregate at one of my friend's house and watch the video. It seemed like everyone went out and got this album and it was always playing at the local swimming pool.

Geez tough question...I guess my fave album would be Pyromania...it reminds me of the time in my life when I was playing in one band, doing sound for another and "managing" another!! It was music, music, music all day, everyday and I hadn't a care in the world!! I played Pyromania constantly...
...but as for fave song? Hmmmm...tough, tough choice there...I guess I'll have to go with Pour Some Sugar On Me...that song just makes me need to crank the volume and just PARTY!! ;D
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
Favorite album? Pyromania of course 8)
Favorite song? "Too Late"
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
I guess I'd have to say Hysteria, and Pour Some Sugar on Me for the fave song from it. Also reminds me of spring/summer 1988. I graduated from high school in '88, and I remember being a couple of minutes late for rehearsal because the video for it came on MTV as I was leaving for school that day. This song will always remind me of my younger / wilder days :-*

Pyromania is my favorite. The album takes me back to when I was a kid and we used to go to a campsite down in Isle La Motte, Vermont. Especially the songs Photograph and Rock Of Ages.
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
Pyromania fan, too. I can't really pick a favorite song, I love them all. Pour Some Sugar on Me makes me wanna dance, though. ;)
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
Whichever one is playing. I cannot choose because they are all great.
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
I always liked Pyromania myself. And I always wonder why "Too Late for Love" was not released as a single!

Fa-fa-fa-Foolin' ! 8)
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
Pyromania's my fave. My favorite tune on there's "Rock Of Ages".
My favorite tune on Hysteria is "Armaggedon It".
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
Photograph all the way
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
My favorite album by Def Leppard has always been Pyromania. My favorite song of theirs is "Foolin'"...with "Rock Of Ages" as a close second.
The album Pyromania was released when I was a junior in high school and whenever I hear it I always think of a party I went to for some seniors that year. We blasted that great rockin' music!!! 8)
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
I actually like their "Pyromania" & "Hysteria" albums. 8)
Favorite Def Leppard songs:
"Photograph"
"Rock Of Ages"
"Foolin"
"Animal"
"Pour Some Sugar On Me"
"Love Bites"
"Armageddon It"
"Rocket"
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
Even though Pyromania was one of my first cassettes, I tend to like Hysteria more. We used to play Hysteria all the time on the bus to and from school.
Subject: Re: Favorite Def Leppard.....
Def Leppard rocks! Back in their heyday, they were a really great looking bunch of guys (important to us 19 year old females!!) that played great rock. They didn't work the whole hair metal/makeup thing, like so many of the metal bands at that time; they were just all about rock and roll.
Their music was awesome, very innovative. "Photograph", from Pyromania, takes me back to a certain time in my life every time I hear it. However, "Love Bites" is my all time favorite of theirs. Something about the combination of guitar and vocal harmonies just sets them apart.

I think it was CD. Back in the day they used to play that song ALL the time on the radio stations here. Along with the video on MTV.

Yeah, Def Leppard is one of my all-time faveorites. The vocals were awesome....the lots o' dudes choruses and Joe Elliot's scream. I loved the guitar sound, especially on Hysteria. I don't know how to describe it. I do think, however, that the sound of that band died with Steve Clarke. Phil Collen is pretty good at arranging but Steve's songs always just had this haunting edge to them. My favorite intro was God's of War..the first 2 minutes of that song totally blew me away as a kid.
Oh yeah, which do you like better...the video intro to Pour some sugar on me or the album version?

My God, you have to ask a question like THIS? Why don't you just shoot me now and get it over with, or do you want to see me suffer, and see my head explode into millions of bloody, pulpy fragments from the stress of trying to come up with a favorite album and song from the greatest band on earth??
Does it HAVE to be from the 80's? Can I choose stuff from B-Sides?? Can I use a Live version as my favorite??? It's happening!!! BLOWING OUT!!!! AAAH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!
OK, I'll say the album Hysteria, and the song Animal. That song DEMANDS a cranking of the volume.

Agreed! That is the one I am always requesting! LOL :D

This isn't fair. Most bands can put out at least twice what they did during any given decade.
LP? Hysteria. It was actually one of the first cassettes i could call my own.
Song? This is tough. Normally i'd go with Animal, or maybe Billy's Got a Gun. But i'd have to say Switch 625 overall due to circumstances.
Unless of course you mean released singles, which Animal would win hands down.
Memories? Just carefree good times with friends (plus this happened while i was in Germany)

I never really was big on Def Leppard. They always seemed to me to be the Melodic Rock version of N'SYNC. But one tune I really like is "Lady strange". I think that one was off of High and dry.

Scary isn't it? ;D That comment almost made me go into cardiac arrest!! I think maybe they are thinking of someone else, because all you have to do is listen to DL and know they have no relation to N'Sync.
