Subject: Any Other B-52's Fans Here?
Written By: Katrinawitch on 03/12/03 at 07:21 a.m.
I can honestly say that the B-52's are my all time favorite group! Although 80's music (not so much the 'pop' music, but more the new wave, alternative, punk, new romantics, etc) is my favorite in general, the 52's just have this certain something...their music is fun, happy, always sounds new and cutting-edge (to me, anyway). Plus, they're still hanging on after all these years, and sound just as good as they did 20 years ago.

Their music was pretty good, I thought. Rock Lobster, Love Shack, and Private Idaho were probably the best ones... ;)

When I was in high school, I tried to convince this girl that there was such a song called Rock Lobster. I wonder if she has ever heard it by now. I must confess, it is a really stupid song-but I like it anyway.

The B-52's were a great upbeat new wave act. :D
My personal favorite songs are: "Love Shack", "Roam", "Private Idaho", "Rock Lobster", & "Song for the Future Generation". 8)
I have their "greatest hits" music video compilation that's fun to watch like most early '80's music videos.
They were also original. In retrospect, they were formed in the mist of the punk revolution and disco trend.

Me. I'm a fan. "Love Shack" is a little overplayed though.
My favorites:
Legal Tender
Party Out of Bounds
Private Idaho
Planet Claire
Summer of Love

Yeah I hear Love Shack way too much too, radio stations make it seem like thats the only song they did. My favorite song by them is Roam.
I didnt know they were still making music. I thought Kate Pierson went on her own way or something, is she currently with them?

Kate Pierson has done some solo stuff, but her best work (I think ever) is on the new Time of Orchids album, "Much Too Much Fun." Any B-52's fan should own this. Honestly, it's the best CD I've bought in a LOOOOOOOONG time.
It's some of Kate's most fun stuff -- everything from spooky, romantic whispers over what sounds like 60's Italian filmscores to all-out "Rock Lobster"-type screams and motivational/absurdist rants! Do yourselves a favor and order a copy from the band:

Hi, I'm Cindy, I'm a Pisces, I like Chihuahuas and Chinese noodles!
How can you not like that?

I knew someone who used to claim that she dropped acid with Cindy. How true that was? Your guess is as good as mine.

The B-52's are the ultimate party group! They are sooo entertaining to see Live! I lucked out on eBay recently, & won their "Time Capsule_Videos For A Future Generation" on LaserDisc (a VERY rare item!). :)

My fave song from the B-52's has always been "Roam"! Man, I love that song. It's one of those happy, dance around the room kind of songs that puts me in a great mood whenever I hear it! :)

Dittos! B-52s are fresh and timeless. Remember "She brakes for rainbows"? Everything they did was great!
But tell me one thing: What CD had the tune "Cold sweat"? If I'm not mistaken, a couple of the members broke away for a real short time (less than a year) and even went by a different name when they did that CD.
