Subject: Favorite 80's remixes
I personally like "Downunder", and "Who Can It Be Now?" remixed, and "Send Me An Angel".
Does anybody else have a favorite??
Subject: Re: Favorite 80's remixes
I love Flesh for Lulu I Go Crazy remix. Excellent.
Subject: Re: Favorite 80's remixes
The remixed "Don't Stand So Close To Me" by the Police (remixed in the 80's) is every bit as good as the original, IMO.
Subject: Re: Favorite 80's remixes
I like the dance mix of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away" as well as the dance version of Madonna's "Like a Prayer".
Subject: Re: Favorite 80's remixes
I have Aha's Take On Me, Superior Techno version and it is excellent!
I have several remixes but the two I mentioned are my favorite. DJ Mystik (not DJ Sammy) has some remixes with 80s music and those are excellent as well.

I love wham´s "everything she wants" remix!
Subject: Re: Favorite 80's remixes
March Violets Turn to the Sky
New Order True Faith
Ultravox Love's Great Adventure
Oingo Boingo Stay
INXS Black and White
Berlin Sex (I'm a...)

Do you have a while? ;D
I just heard Derrick Carter's remix of Taco's "Puttin' On The Ritz" last night. Pretty snazzy...
Okay, here's my list (in no particular order):
ZZ Top - Sleeping Bag (12" Remix)
Ultravox - Reap The Wild Wind (Resurrection Remix)
The Clash - Rock The Casbah (Hot Tracks Remix)
Kajagoogoo - Too Shy (Midnight Mix)
Talking Heads - Burning Down The House (Razormaid! Remix AND MidasMix version 2.1) 8)
Depeche Mode - Strangelove (Pain Mix)
Depeche Mode - People Are People (Razormaid! & Hot Tracks Remixes)
New Order - Blue Monday (Re-Ordered - DMC Remix)
Yazoo - Situation (Re-Situated - DMC Remix)
OMD - If You Leave (12" Remix)
Pet Shop Boys - Opportunities (Shep Pettibone Remix)
Vanity 6 - Nasty Girls (Wicked Mix)
The Time - The Bird (12" Remix)
New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle (Hot Tracks Remix)
Kon Kan - I Beg Your Pardon (Hot Tracks Remix)
Laid Back - White Horse '89 (Art of Mix Remix)
That's all for now... ;)

Depeche Mode- Never Let Me Down Again (Aggro Mix)
Subject: Re: Favorite 80's remixes
I love the remix of Duran Duran's "New Moon on Monday" which, in my opinion, is far and away their best remix. I like the extended mix of Information Society's "What's On Your Mind". I'm not sure what the actual name of the InSoc mix is offhand. All my vinyl is downstairs and I'm lazy.
And I'm still intrigued by the U.S. single remix of "Mothers Talk" by Tears for Fears although I'm still not sure I prefer it over the album version even after nearly twenty years.

I agree that NMOM is by far D2's best remix. :)
The A-Side extended mix of "What's On Your Mind" is simply called "Club Mix."
Here's some more I like:
C.C.C.P. - American Soviets (Cameron Paul Remix)
Level 42 - Something About You (Shep Pettibone Remix aka US Remix - much better than Julian Mendelsohn's Sisa Mix)
ABC - Vanity Kills (Mendelsohn Mix - better than the USA Remix)
Corey Hart - Boy In The Box (Dance Mix)

Sister Sledge's
Lost In Music-1984 Bernard Edwards & Nile Rodgers Remix
We Are Family-Sure Is Pure Remix
Howard
Subject: Re: Favorite 80's remixes
Pretty much all the Depeche Mode remixes of their 80s songs. I like "Fools," "Shake The Disease," "A Question Of Time," "A Question Of Lust," and "See You" in particular.
The extended versions of:
"Reap The Wild Wind" by Ultravox
"It's My Life" by Talk Talk
"Pale Shelter" by Tears For Fears
"Dance With Me" by The Lords Of The New Church
"You Move Me" by The Comsat Angels
The instrumental versions of:
Madonna's "Who's That Girl" by The London Philarmonic
"Come Before Christ And Murder Love" by Death In June
An overall mix compilation that's worthwhile getting is The Art Of Mix NewOrder CD (thanks, DJMidas 8) ).

That's the one. I love that remix. It's one of the few extended mixes I can listen to all the way through and not find it monotonous at all. Eight minutes of pure glory. The other mixes on the 12" aren't quite as inspired. Well, OK, I kinda dig the mix that's just vocals and percussion (percapella).
I also neglected to mention the Indiscriminate Mix of Go West's "Call Me". Absolutely brilliant in its execution. I think I need to start dragging my old vinyl 12" singles out again.

The "What's on Your Dub" mix is okay. Hey, speaking of Go West...which mix of "We Close Our Eyes" do you like better? I like the one that's on the B-Side of "Call Me" and I can't remember if it's the Overhang or Underhang mix... :-/
I also like the Funkymix/Ultimix version of "Buffalo Stance" (actually it's called "The Buffalo Mix" with Neneh Cherry & Malcolm McLaren. D2's "I Don't Want Your Love" is the drum track that fuels this mix).

I'll have to unearth both mixes I have and compare. I have the b-side mix (and I checked...it's the Complete Underhang Mix) and the Total Overhang Club Mix on my copy of "Bangs & Crashes". I'll make it my mission tonight.

Yeah, the Complete Underhang Mix is the one I like better. I have the Total Overhang Club Mix from the US 12".
I also like Shep Pettibone's mix of Pet Shop Boys' "Opportunities."
