This topic spans several decades, so I'll just put it here, where most of the relevant fans will see it...
Does anyone who was watching early-morning Saturday TV in Australia back in the 80s remember the music video show called "Sounds"? It was hosted by Donnie Sutherland.
Anyway, does anyone remember if the first few seconds of Don't Change by INXS was used at the beginning of the opening credits? And what song did it segue into?
The reason I brought this up was the recent cover of this song done by the Aussie band Grinspoon. It's a slightly harder-edged version of the song, but overly faithful to the original sound (and therefore, ultimately pointless).

I remember the TV show called "Sounds". I can't remember the theme song. "Sounds" was around several years before INXS released "Don't Change".

My first thought too was that Donnie and his bad haircut and Sounds were around a long time before INXS.
Isnt Donnie a DJ in Victoria or South Australia now ? Maybe you could email the station and ask him.
I will ask around and see if my SA pals know which station he works on.
