Subject: What were the Filthy 15 songs from 1985?
VH-1 is doing a special on songs that were too hot for censors. They talked about how crusty old parents groups made a fuss about the music kids listened to back in the 80's. In 1985 the Parental Advisory label was created, because of the FILTHY 15. But then John Denver came and saved the day for the kids of the 80's.
What were the Filthy 15? I want to listen to them all.
So far I only jotted down two:
1. Cyndi Lauper's "She Bop"
2. Twisted Sister's "We're Not Going to Take It"
What were the others?

The greatest irony is that the kids that listened to that stuff back in 1985 are probably complaining about how bad Eminem, DMX, and Christina Aguilera are today.
I also remember rap groups came under heavy fire by parents groups in the Late 80's. Stuff like 2 Live Crew and NWA (Niggas With an Attitude) were getting banned back around 1988/'89. Store chains like Wal-Mart and Blockbuster still don't sell CDs with the Parental Advisory label on them, but they have no problem selling videos with lots of T&A.

Thanks for the help! :)
Oh and I agree that every generation does condem the next and laugh at the previous.

I like HWA (Hoez With Attitude). Though they were around briefly and recorded only 2 albums, they remain my favorite rap group to this day. If you wanna hear something that will really scorch your ears, listen to "Is The P---- Still Good?" by BWP. I believe that's the sexiest song I've ever heard (until its abrupt, surprise ending.) I agree with you about stores like Wal-Mart (however, I did once find an unedited copy of Yo-Yo's "You Better Ask Somebody" in a Wal-Mart).

Most of them would never admit now that the 80's were less then perfect and that back then kids wanted to listen or watch anything controversial too.
