Subject: big hair
I for one would like to go back to big hair.... does anyone else agree? I have a popular style now (i didn't keep mine from the 80's) but as I get older, life would be a lot easier. :D

Pretty please no. ;)

I don't think the big hair look should come back either. I remember how much time (and styling products) it took to get my hair up that high. Even strong winds or rain could penetrate my hair back in the 80's. ;D

I agree, it should comes back,I like it ;)

Oh yes please! And while we're at it can we bring back short denim skirts with lace and those white leather ankle boots with the fringes? Grrrrrrrrooooooowwwwwwwwwwllllllll!! ;D
Subject: Re: big hair
I'm admitting to this.... I had 'big hair' in the 90's... I don't think I got over it until about Sophmore/Junior year in HS which would have been about 94/95. And the only reason I had 'big hair' was because I had 'bangs'...and now that my hair is all one length it's not 'big' anymore.
I in fact still bust a gut when I see people with 'big hair' walk by....it's totally funny that you can't see past them in any direction cuz their hair is in the way...lol....
But you do what you want because YOU want it that way, NOT because others have it that way, or it's what's IN...be your own person.

Bring back the mullet... ;D!

I miss the Big hair trend, but not the phonyness or sissyness that too many times went with it. Guys like Bon Jovi, David Coverdale, Eddy Van Halen, Kip Winger and others proved that a man can have pretty hair and still look masculine and in his right mind.
Yea, guys can look cool (even enviable) with their hair teased to the moon if they are wearing denim and leather, or at least clothes that distinguish them from the opposite sex.
But when the Glam came along to dominate the Rock scene, all went to hell! Spandex, glitter, makeup, womens clothes, shoes, jewelry made rockers look and act like drag queens. It was sickening! I always wondered; How can they feel comforable in public looking like that? The Metal Boy Georges turned mainstream Metal into a video freak show.
I truly believe that if the majority of Rockers in the 80s would have put more energy into touring than into their "I'm so Hollywood" image, Metal (80s style) would have continued to dominate on into the 90s till the present day and maybe even rivaled Rap. Nirvana would have only been a minor blip on the radar screen.

Most of the styles I see today on women are retro-'70's styles. Did you see "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back?" Ari Larter looked like she was right out of the pre-Farrah '70's.
I don't think all '80's big hairdos looked neat. Many of them looked frizzy and even scraggily. A lot of the '90's hairdos were mainly revivals of the '60's hairdos and they seemed neater.

I believe dagwood meant "neat" as in "cool", "awesome", "great", "fun", etc. Not as in "non-messy"!

Actually I meant clean...for the most part not messy. Where I went to school the hair was always in place and clean. Not many of the frizzies running around. Most of they guys had short hair and the ones with long hair kept it tied back because of school rules.

Yeah but remember where we went to school at? Not a big one! ha! and clean....well....who had long hair? I can only remember one person (you know who) ;). I hated the 80's hairdo's, my dad still has a pic of me with that hairdo on his livingroom wall...one of these days it will be mysteriously missing!

True. You had pretty hair until your grandma cut it all off for you. Too bad you don't have anything, I could blackmail you when that pic does disappear. ;) ;D
