Subject: He Helped Develop MTV....
Mike Nesmith (Wool Hat) of The Monkees! :D
Amazing bit of trivia, IMO.
I thank you, Mike Nesmith, for the awesome years of enjoyment I got from MTV in its first decade, the 80's.

Now, let us try not to ruin the thread bringing up MTV's downfall in the 90's. :-/ Mmm...K? ;)

Oh man, MTV in the 80's rocked! I used to tape whole blocks on vhs tapes..jut let it run until the tape ended. The only thing I am sad about is where did those tapes go?? I have never been able to find them ....I bet it would be great to sit and watch them now. Was anyone else like me in that MTV was the "soundtrack" of my life in the 80's? It was always playing.... :)

Oh, I loved MTV in the 1980's! I wish it were still that way! I wish I could shell out extra money for digital cable and get all those MTV and VH1 channels, not to mention GAC and MuchMusic USA! (And get cable internet to boot!) About the only music channel I watch a lot of these days is CMT(V)…

In the Before The 70s section I mentioned that Mike Nesmith had a comedy show on TV in the 80s. Does anyone know the name of it?

This was my "soundtrack" too. I still have many tapes from then that I recroded from MTV but my vcr was poor quality back then so they kind of suck quality wise. It is still fun to watch them though and remember. I had a crush on Martha Quinn too lolol!

I lived in the sticks until late 83 and was then finally able to get cable and watch MTV. It was pretty much on 24/7 and my friends would get so frustrated with me because I wouldn't go anywhere until I had gotten my MTV "fix". :)

When you can dish out the extra money...VH1 Classic is the best. Lots of 80's and even 70's. I love it. ;D

Mike Nesmith must be rolling in the dough. He was co-creator of MTV and, if I'm not mistaken, didn't his grandmother invent White Out correction fluid? :)
