Subject: Fast Times at Ridgemont High Music

Well I'll be buggered if I can find this music anywhere, so I will describe it here. Around the point of the film, the students are in the hall, and two of them point out the 'Pat Benatar' clones walking around. There's this 80s glam rock, no vocals, playing in the background.

No mention of the track on the soundtrack album, but I managed to hear it again, amazingly, on an NBC broadcast of an NBA game around 1992. They used it to introduce the starting fives of both teams. It only went for around 1 minute, but had Marv Albert talking over the top of it.....

Does anyone know the artist or track name?

Just popped my copy of the pre-recorded VHS video of "FTARH" into the VCR, to double-check. And uh, well, IMO, a big part of the reason you've been unable to find that song is because, um, there is no music played during that lunchtime cafeteria scene in question; in fact, the first time any music is heard in the film after that is more than five minutes and several scenes later, when Jackson Browne's "Somebody's Baby" is played as Stacy sneaks out her bedroom window into the night! (And there is no music during the preceding scene, either, where Spicoli arrives late to history class, and Mr. Hand rips up his class schedule!) Sorry, but it appears you dreamed it...

Actually... crazily enough, I think the version of the movie they show on broadcast TV has different music for different scenes than the actual theatrical release... weird, huh?

Well, if that's the case, then mine is definitely not the broadcast version, lol... :-)

Gonna have to watch it again. I have an orginal copy of it that I bought probably about 10 years ago or so.
