Subject: 20-year reunion
Well, this July marks 20 years since graduating high school. I'll return to my small home town in Northern California and bask in the nostalgia and compare myself to others. Yeah, I'm pretty shallow, but at least I admit it...
Anyone else looking forward to AND simultaneously dreading their upcoming reunion? Why and why not?

I went to my 20 year reunion in 01 and yanno what? It ROCKED! It was like we had all be the most amazing friends all our lives and it was one of the best times I've ever had....dont' be afraid...go, have fun and be non-judgemental...you will have the BEST time!!

I went to two different high schools. The one that I would like to go to the reunion was the one I didn't graduate from. The other, which I did graduate from, I found out about the reunion AFTER. They sent the notice to my mother and she didn't give it to me because I once said that I didn't want to do. I probably wouldn't have but at least she could have given me the option of changing my mind. Well, only several more years until the 30th. lol

I've never been to any of my reunions. I had planned to go to my 25th reunion in 2000 but I never did. My 30th reunion is in a couple of years, and I'll probably not go to it, either.

My 20 year reunion is not until 2012.
By then I'll be close to 50 years old. :D

My 20 is this year... so far I haven't heard any reunion details, but I doubt that I go anyway.

I have one coming up soon, not sure if I'm going to go. I just have this feeling that the people I want to see won't show and the people that I don't want to see will be there :)

I just got notice that we are to have a 25 year school reunion in 2006.I think that I was fortunate in that the school I went to was brand new when we started grade 9.So get this back in grade 8 we were seniors then the new school opensonly from grade 7 to 9 then the following year to 10 then 11 and then 12.So we were seniors for 5 years in a row.How cool is that?Never picked on by the older kids and always looked up to cuz we were the seniors.
We had a 10 year reunion that was a scream and I am looking forward to the 25th even though it is a few years off.25 years wow does time fly it really seems like yesterday.I love the line from the Goo Goo dolls ."I'm still growing up my friends are growing old before my eyes".
To anyone who has the chance to go to a school reunion DO IT but be prepared cuz even after all these years someone will walk up and say "hey pizza face is that you?".It's the past and have fun with it.I guess I can say that cuz highschool was a real good time for me.
Good topic ahhh the memories now it's time to listen to Cliff Richard WIRED FOR SOUND. 8)

My 20 year reunion won't be for another 10 years! 2002 was my 10 year reunion, but I did not go. I was just too depressed to go after learning a childhood friend had died only days before the reunion and the funeral was the day after the reunion. After high school I finally figured out who my true friends really were. Was I in for a big surprise. And that's why I didn't go and don't plan to go to any of them. I HATED high school. Time for me to vent. Everybody from the NHS class of 1992 can kiss my A $ $

I graduated high school in 1993. So I gots me a 10 year reunion some time this year. Damn I feel old. Is Pearl Jam already thought of as classic rock?
Subject: Re: 20-year reunion
I didn't go to my 10 year but would like to go to my 20. That should be sometime in 2009...
Subject: Re: 20-year reunion
You should definitely go!I was so lucky I got the chance to go....I literally stumbled onto it.I was getting emails from that classmates.com so I decided to check it out. When I saw all the names of my old schoolmates I was cracking up so I instantly emailed some of them.My friend Kelly emailed back 5 minutes later and we went back and forth all day LOL!Then she tells me the reunion was that Saturday.I kept going back and forth whether I wanted to go or not because I was unemployed and didnt want to be embarassed. At the last minute I decided to go it was like a Twilight Zone episode you knew these people but you didnt know them. The last time we saw each other we were drinking milk now we are all guzzling booze. From passing notes to each other to being on our cell phones. And their were couples that were still together and married with kids.LOL!It was a great night of dancing and talkin about "the good ol days"Best of all I wasnt the only one unemployed LOL!

Reunions are fun, even if you didn't have that great of a time in HS it's go to go just for the voyeur factor, see where people are today.

I can just see it now. Mr. Jock is now fat and a total loser and Mr. Geek is now a multimillionaire. Ms Prom Queen still thinks that she is "all that" only she isn't. The wall flower now looks great because he/she found self-confidence. Mr. Troublemaker who was always in the principal's office is now the principal. The class president couldn't attend because he is in prision for extortion. (Any others?)

This May would be my 20-yr also. Unfortunately, I attended a very small school (10 ppl in my graduating class) and none of them are the kind to organize or help organize this kind of event.
What I would like to see is the school have a reunion for the years 80-85. I had more friends ahead and behind me in school than in my class and would love to have the opportunity to catch up on all that's gone on since highschool.

Exactly, I met up with Jennifer Anderson at my 10th, she was a shy girl, kinda cute but not one of the popular ones. She was the hottest :o thing there! She was successful, self assured, confidance pooring form her.

November this year marks 20 years since I left school. I left two years before my friends as I felt the school was doing more to educate drug runners than me. In those days you had to go to the school in the area you lived so I had no choice but to leave and get a job.
I went to the reunion in 1995 that I guess marked 10 years that all the rest graduated. Surprise surprise - half the schools population was either in jail or dead from drug overdoses.
Made me glad I left and actually made something of my technically uneducated self instead of staying and turning out like them.
I guess who ever is left alive in 2005 will celebrate their 20 year reunion - it may have to be at a cemetary tho - or more likely the local jail !!!!! Good luck to them.
I totally despised everything about high school. I dont have a single fond memory of the hours between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday from 1981 to 1983. My "real" life and memories were after 4pm and weekends.
I keep in touch with 6 girls who I have known since about 1979 because they remind me of the only good things that came out of that school. We are now spread throughout the country and the world - thank gawd for email !!

I would love to go to mine. There's only one problem. I never graduated. I quit halfway through 12th grade. Stupid I know! Don't remind me! I'm trying to get in touch with some people from my class to see if I can attend. Hopefully I can. I would love to see old friends.
