Speaking of Nikki Sixx......There is a semi-new band that is from here in Memphis called Saliva. I dont know just how big they are elsewhere but they're all over MTV and the lead singer Josey Scott did that song from the Spiderman movie with Chad Kroeger from Nickelback called "Hero"...well anyways....I watched Saliva kick around Memphis for many years before they were signed to Island Def Jam....Josey is bi-sexual and it is fact that he is good friends with Nikki Sixx....and lately I've heard it rumored that he and Nikki Six are more than just friends....does anyone have any info on Nikki Sixx's sexual orientation? Because I am just curious about all of this....

IMO Saliva is an exellent band. I love the music on their debut CD. As far as sexual orientation is concerned I don't really care who they sleep with as long as they keep making great music.

They really are good. I agree. A lot of people here in Memphis dont like them because they've been soooooooooo overplayed. but Im proud of them. I saw them make it big which is a really cool thing and I got to go to their concert here right after they got signed to Island Def Jam and it was at the Omni New Daisy on Beale Street which is a relatively SMALL club....I was rubbing elbows with record producers and the people from MTV...was kind of neat...:)

UB40 were formed while the band were all on the dole (aka unemployment benefit) in their home town of Birmingham, UK.
The government form you used to have to complete to qualify for unemployment benefit was form number UB40. That's where they got the name, it's not really a pun on "You Be 40", that's just a coincidence.

There was also a high youth unemployment rate in the UK in the early 80s so their name was a political statement drawing attention to this.
