Subject: Wendy's!
Does anyone remember when the fast food place Wendy's had plastic hippie-like beads hanging by where you would stand in line to order? No one remembers this....
Subject: Re: Wendy's!
I do! :D
They had them in the Wendys' in Phoenix in the late 70's/early 80's.
I miss their salad bar. :-/

I worked in a Wendy's during high school, and that is when they started getting rid of the salad bar. My store was one of the last to offer the salad bar, and once it was gone there were some upset people. I liked the salad bar too, as they you could make tacos and burritos. Now I just get the double stacks or a jr bacon cheeseburger. I still like Wendys, as I think they have the best meat out of the three largest fast food chains.

Yes I can remember when Wendy's did that. They tried to make a Victorian Era feel to the interior design I think. But yes that was many years ago.

I think the best "fast food" hamburgers I have ever had are Rally's. Rally Burgers are just incredible...Backyard Burger is a close second though.

That's hilarious! I totally remember those beads they had at Wendy's, it really did add some ambiance to the place, huh?
There used to be this disco Taco Bell near where I lived that still had a real bell out in front of the restaurant.

wow, I hate to admit it, but until I read this thread, I didn't even know Wendy's got rid of their salad bar!
I haven't been there in years, I absolutley hate their fries. Their burgers aren't bad, but their fries taste like cardboard.
I think Wendy's is last on my list of "favorite fast-food joints".

Really? Geez, just when you think a guy is perfect..... ;D
I like Wendy's; but I agree, the fries could be better. But, I rarely meet a fry I won't eat, so. I also miss the salad bar - ours down the street was 1 of the last too, I think. I don't eat much salad but it's nice to have the option.

Oh cummon, if its any consolation, I still like their hamburgers and frosties. :D ;)

The only good things about/in Wendy's, IMO, are the baked potatos, cups of chili & frosties.

I remember the beads....and the table tops......they looked like ads in the back of old timey magazines!! It was always fun to sit and read those....IMO!! Plus I used to love to play with the beads while standing in line!!!

I like their burgers fine enough but can anyone tell me why they're square? I've NEVER been able to figure that one out...
