Subject: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
I personally like The Breakfast Club better out of these two brat pack movies. What do you all think?? ??? 8)

I'm with ya, Sistah Girl ;) 8)
Breakfast Club had way more angst and goofy fun
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club all the way but 16 candles is really good too. 8)
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
I have to go with Sixteen Candles. This is one of my fave movies of all time. My sister and I can recite more or less the entire script, word for word, we've seen it so many times! :)
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
I love them both but I will have to go with 16 Candles. I mean, who could not love the Donger?
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
I liked them both but I would have to go with "The Breakfast Club." I think it was a bit more realistic (just a bit).

I thought 16 Candles was the better one.
Breakfast Club can be boring and has less going on.
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
I love anything with Molly Ringwald in it, but my personal favorite is "Pretty In Pink". I think it's better than either one of these.
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
16 Candles, full of abusurdist fun and lots of good people. Breakfest Club was good, but took itself to serioulsy.
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club rocks 'cause the message is still the same all these years later :)
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
I vote The Breakfast Club :)
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club

I do not think there is a choice, Breakfast Club was a top 10 movie from the 80s. What I would give for a DVD where the main actors talk about the script. This was a major movie which accomplished alot. No more stereotypes. In the simplest terms, the most common definitions, we are a jock, a princess, a nerd, a basket case, and a criminal. Enough said!
BTW, I loved the david bowie quote: "they are immune to your consultations".
It was one of the best movies ever made!!!
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
The Club, most definitely the Club.
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
Hands down, no question about it
The Breakfast Club.

I'm with you 100%! My friends and I still ask each other:
What's a happenin' hot stuff?

What sweet prose. It was most definitely the Club.
And I remember a quote by Gene Siskel who said, "What would you rather see, a movie or the characters of the movie having lunch?" This movie is so good, I would have liked to see both. We need more entertainment like this. 16 candles tried to be funny by light humor, The Breakfast Club was because it touched us and who we are. The Club made me rethink who I am and who I wanted to be at a critical time in my life. Judge others or be accepting and realize the simularities?

The Breakfast Club
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
I like both for the fact that both of these movies were filmed in my town!
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
I think the Breakfast Club was filmed in Illinois. I could be wrong. What town was 16 Candles filmed in?
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
IMHO, The Breakfast Club was so wretched, that I had sworn off any Molly Ringwald movie. That is until I saw "Betsy's Wedding", and I saw that for Alan Alda and Madeline Kahn. I don't need to tell anyone I didn't see either "16 Candles" or "Pretty In Pink".

You may like "Not Another Teen Movie". It cracks jokes about all those John Hughes Movies, and some from the 90's. And Molly is in it, and I think the years have not been kind to her. But on the good side, Lacey Chabert is in it and she is a cuttie pie (except for the one bizzar act she wishes to do).
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
No competition - The Breakfast Club. It is one of my favourite 80s movies, along with The Princess Bride.
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
No question about it. The Breakfast Club is timeless.
But I must bring up another movie that epitomizes 80's culture: Back to the Future. Anyone agree with me?
Subject: Re: Sixteen Candles VS. The Breakfast Club
hey Back to the Future is my favorite movie of all time. It is truly, in a word...IDEAL!!! :D
