So what are your favorite Janet Jackson songs.
I have a question about her 3rd album "Control." She must of had did the Pleaure Principle video first because she was small in that video and in her other videos like Nasty and Control, she is big.

Although I've seen the When I Think of You video at least a million times in my life my favorite Janet song of the eighties was Pleasure Principle.

My fave (80s) songs from Janet would be "What Have You Done for Me Lately", "Escapade" and "When I Think of You". Janet sure had a great deal of hits in the 80s!!! :)

I'm glad you brought her up. :)
She's not mentioned much around these parts, but I think she did very good material in the 1980's. Unfortunately for her, she has never topped her successes of that era. And perhaps never will.

As for her slimming figure and toning, she felt she had to improve her image due to entertainment industry criticism of her weight. The beginning of her weight management was first noticed in the Pleasure Principle video.

Again, I think it's unfair to expect 1 to pick a #1! :(
I loved Janet - glad someone brought her up before I'd forget myself. Today's stuff - I haven't heard it but I saw her trying to fit into a '90s kind of "sexy" (huh? oxymoron, isn't it?) style, and that was enough for me not to even bother. I liked her better (as every woman) fully clothed and not trying to pander to base male lusts. Obviously it hasn't helped her hit the charts.
I NEVER thought of Janet as "chubby"! Maybe a tad as a youngster in "Good Times", but hardly obvious ever.
Anyway, I love the Control album - never had it, wanted it, and it has almost perfect hit-production. Rhythm Nation did some, too, but not as much.
