Subject: What are some things about the 80's you forgot....

I honestly had forgotten (I don't know how) about the Thundercats until I saw a tape that one of my cousin's owned back in 1994. I also had forgotten about Silverhawks & Visionaries! (those guys with holograms of different animals on their chests). And I know you guys remember that show "Rags to Riches" with Tisha Campbell, some other girls, & a little boy named "Matthew." They use to sing songs from the 50's & 60's with an 80's beat to them. I use to watch that show EVERY Sunday & I can't believe a forgot about it until recently!

Ya know, until I started poking around 80's sites, I forgot about alot of things. The cereals I used to eat, the shows I used to watch, toys I played with... it's all coming back now...

Oh man there were so many things that I had forgotten about! I use to watch Rainbow Brite and The Care Bears soo much as a child. In fact my mother told me that my tapes actually WORE down so much that they were hardly visible anymore. I had totally forgotten about these cartoons until I was in a mom and pop's video store that carries alot of 80's movies and cartoons! There I saw Rainbow Brite and fell in love with her all over again (i know i sound so wussy!) Anyway then I went on e-bay and was able to purchase the tape I had loved so much as a kid!

Know what I forgot? REAL TOYS
We had some stuff back then. Even the girl toys were cool. Rainbow Brite would get into fights with Murky Dismal and that big thing...Megatron was a PISTOL, not some silly tank.

I was on another site and someone brought up Monchichis, those little ape stuffed animals that were popular in the mid-80s. I had totally forgotten about them and then the song from the commercials popped into my mind: "Monchichi, monchichi..." ;D

Hey, I had one of those. I though they were cool... and the thumb sucking was silly, but it was the baby who sucked his thumb, not all of them... or did they ?

I used to own a few of those, you could stuff them into themselves to make a furball....lol..

rainbow brite got into fights with murky and LURKY...you guys are bringing back such memories by talking about glo worms and popples. I loved popples! I remember playing with mousetrap and hungry hungry hippos as a kid in the 80's, although those two games might also be around. Anyone remember Fivel...the mouse...from An American Tale...I think it was in the 80's when I had a stuffed animal of him and I loved the movie!

I forgot how ridiculous some of the fashions were. In my memory people look normal, but when I see a video, even a non-glam video, I realize how dated the fashions are. I also forget about how far technology has come since say 1985. Another thing I forgot is inflation. I thought it had been pretty stagnant since the eighties, but I was looking at an old catalog, and was shocked at how cheap stuff was.

You just reminded me of something I had forgotten... how much I used to love to look at mail-order catalogs. Now, with the Internet, I rarely look at those anymore. :-[

what about the cartoon 'The Shirt Tales'. All these different little animals lived in a tree in the park(central park maybe) and stuff. there was a pammy panda, rick the fox(or maybe a racoon), bogey the orangautan, digger the gopher(i think),
a tiger, ah well, i remembered most of it anyway
