Subject: Best Hall & Oates song ?
For me "Maneater"!! This song is a symbol of the 80's!!
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
The best Hall and Oates song has to be "Private Eyes". "Maneater" has nothin' on it. OK, well, it's a good song but I like "Private Eyes" better.
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
"Out of touch"
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
"I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)"
I think this has been done already…oneonone, where are you?

"Jingle Bell Rock"
I'm kidding... ;)

Though I do agree with that, I gotta say I always liked "Out of Touch" the best, for some reason.

1) Out Of Touch
I'm going to add my usual honorable mentions:
Dreamtime
Education
Method Of Modern Love
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
You Make My Dreams Come True...at least that's the lyric in the chorus. Very uplifting song.
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
Best Hall & Oates.. Hmmm... Sara Smile & She's Gone. Both are 70's Hall and Oates, I believe. Best 80's, You Make My Dreams.
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
This is unfair. ;D I like them all. :)

Out Of Touch
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
My personal fave is "Family Man."
Some of my other top faves are
"Out of Touch"
"Dreamtime" (VERY underplayed except in August 1986)
"Say It Isn't So"
"I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)"
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
I think "Private Eyes". Even if it just barely makes it into the '80s. I really like most of their hits - but frankly, I could turn off "Maneater". It's just too flat and dull compared to most of their stuff. Figures that would be their #1 hit? ??? ::)

That one is my favorite, too! ;)
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
My fave Hall & Oates songs would be "Method of Modern Love" and "Adult Education", although I also liked a lot of their earlier work... :)

That was a GREAT song. You're out of time, I'm out of touch. I feel like singing it out loud.

Go ahead. I'll join in. Reaching out for something to hold. ;D 8)
I know I did this already but that's ok, we can do it again. I don't mind. ;D
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
There are so many I'll go with "Kiss Is On My List" and "Method of Modern Love".
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
Method of Modern Love is definitely my fave of theirs...then again I'm not much of a Hall & Oates fan... :)
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
Hey John! I thought the only fan of Real Genius was me! :D
Quoting:If you want to know anything about me, ask. My favorite 80's movie is Real Genius, my favorite cd is a compelation, I have beautiful brown eyes, and I can not spell despite a college education. End Quote

Did it in a minute

Kiss is on my list
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
My favorite H & O song is "Say It Isn't So".
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
My private eyes are watching you. They see your every move.
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
"Rich Girl"
"Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid"
These have yet to be mentioned and I do like all of the rest listed in this topic.

Me too. ;D
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
Kiss on my list is my favorite.
I just love that bass electric piano that is heard throughout the song. It is very much cool.
we cant forget "Family Man"--although someone mentioned it-it needs to be mentioned again because its cool.
I cant go for that (no can do). I love the electronic keyboards they used.
"We are Frayo" - Kajagoogoo (although Limahl claims he wrote this)
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
I think that weve determined that everything they did was pretty darn good! If there was a juke box with only H 7 O songs on it I could close my eyes and hit the buttons and not be disappointed. But an all time fav would have to be Youve lost that loving feeling..... ;)
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
I'm glad to see someone else picked "Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid". This has been my favorite Hall & Oates song since the first moment I heard it. It just has a mood to it I love.

For anyone out there who may care:
It came out in August 1986.
"Dreamtime" is by Daryl Hall alone.
Hall & Oates didn't release a studio album after "Big Bam Boom" until 1988 when "Ooh Yeah!" came out.
Source: New Romantic :P ::) ;) :)
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
Can't narrow it down to one so I'll narrow it down to the top three.
Private Eyes, She's Gone, and Rich Girl :)

Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
My favorites would have to be
Sara Smile
I can't go for that
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
Sarah Smiles - actually from the 70's. :-X
Subject: Re: Best Hall & Oates song ?
I like pretty much everything they did in the 80s more than the stuff they did in the 70s.
I see someone mentioned "Did It In A Minute". Thats gotta be one of the most underplayed songs of theirs. I only heard it twice ever. Once on a satellite music station about 4 years ago, that was when I finally learned the name, before that I thought it was called "She Did It", and nobody knew what song I was talking about. And once probably when it was on the charts, we were coming home from shopping and there was smashed motorcycle on the highway. That was back when vehicle accidents moved you because they didnt happen as much as they do now.
Anyway, whats the deal with "65 Love Affair" by Paul Davis? Is there a reason it just happens to sound WAY too much like Hall & Oates?
