Subject: Desperately searching for this movie...

Written By: 80sRocked on 10/29/02 at 02:58 p.m.

for the last 10 years, my mother has been searching for a movie called "Mr. Krueger's Christmas".  It was only maybe 30-60 mins long and made for TV.  It starred Jimmy Stewart.  I am guessing it was probably in 1981-82?

She just mentioned it to me the other day on the phone and how much she wants this movie, so I am scrambling to find it to give it to her at Christmas.

I've tried eBay, Amazon, Videoflicks, all the retail stores(physical and online), and many others.

It is listed on Imdb.com but it is not for sale.  Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this movie???  It will finally end a 10-year long search!

Thanks!

Steve, I just placed my bid.  I searched for it earlier but the seller on there left out the period(.) in "Mr." so I wasn't getting any results.

Man, if I win that auction, you just helped end a decade long search!

You da' Man!  Thanks!

I sure did!  I got it for $21 brand new and factory sealed, and since it is so rarely for sale, thats a great deal.

Thanks again!

Good for you!  Probably a pretty fair price for that obscure a movie.  Sounds like the bidding got a little aggressive, though.

Acutally, it did.  And when it was all over, the guy that lost the bidding war actually emailed me and made me an offer,  Naturally I declined, too bad for him I guess.

Dude, how much did you end up paying?

I remember I shelled out $13 for "Clue" and $31 for "UHF" (both fine films, I might add)

$21.  I'll add that this movie is very rare and finding it still sealed and brand new is quite a find.

Which begs the question... Why would someone buy a movie fifteen years ago and never open it?

Up until about 5 years ago it was occasionaly for sale from the Jimmy Stewart Foundation Museum gift shop(in PA), but since then, they would only get in a couple copies at a time, and in result would sell out in no time.  They keep it listed on their online catalog, but the chances of them actually having it in stock are always slim to none.  I'm assuming the person I bought it from either purchased it through the Jimmy Stewart Foundation Museum, or they had a source that I could never seem to find.
