I don't remember pickled onion p chips, but I do remember dill pickle chips. They're still available, although one bag 10 years ago was enough for me.

We still have pickled onion potato crisps here in the UK.
I think every brand sells them.
They are lovely, particularly the Monster Munch ones, but you need to have chewing gum afterwards cos they make your breath stink!

To each their own and everything, but I'm sorry, the very thought of eating something like this makes me feel ill!
Of course I say the same thing about Pepsi, any diet drink and Godiva chocolates. :)

If you want a "screw your eyeballs and wince moment" then I'd strongly recommend the picked onion monster munch crisps. Just don't breathe on anyone afterwards!

My favorites at the moment are Marmite flavour *YUM!!* but I'm aware as they say on the packet you either love or hate then...........

Speaking of Dill Pickle chips, I had some Lay's Dill Pickle Chips the other day... six or seven was plenty for me! Don't get me wrong, they taste great, you just can't have too many at once.
