Subject: New Wave Clubs in Long Island, NYC and NJ
Written By: NewWaveDude (Guest) on 10/21/02 at 01:40 p.m.
Yo everyone. Just wondering if anyone in the NYC area can tell me about some good New Wave/industrial clubs in the NYC, NJ and Long Island area. I regularly hit up Luxe on Long Island, but am looking for other places to go to. Heard about this place QXT's in Newark, NJ ... anybody been there? Any other suggestions? Hit me up ... my email is pulptalent@aol.com 8)

the only place I have heard of is the Culture Club in NYC (but its 80's new wave). Is that what you were looking for?

I don't think Culture Club is what you are looking for... it's pretty cheesy. I think it stays in business solely from Batchelorette parties. It can't hurt to check it out though, I guess. But I think there is something like a $20 cover charge unless you go there really early on certain weekdays. Lisa Lisa is performing there this Friday (I think).

Hey I am from Jersey and I just want to tell you that QXT's is a gothic/industrial nightclub. I personally have never been there and would NEVER go there. I don't think but I also don't know if this is what you are looking for. The address and phone number are:
248 Mulberry St.
Newark, NJ
(973) 643-3996
To me this place is weird but you may like it. They have a dress code but it's not mandatory but it would be appropriate to fit in with the unusual crowd:
The usual attire consists of All Black / PVC / Vinyl / Rubber / Fetishwear / Rivetwear/ Cyber / Go-Go
No baseball caps, gold chains, jockwear, preppywear, ridiculously baggy pants, glowsticks,
and
NO ATTITUDE!
So if you're interested check it out but if you know this isn't your thing don't go! Good luck finding some other places! ;)
