Subject: bug and rock toys that turned into monsters HELP!
Written By: Azrael Zeul on 10/11/02 at 05:35 p.m.
If anyone can help me with this you will have solved a mystery that has been bothering me for years.
When I was a kid I had a toy, it was a green grasshopper about 6 inches long. it was mad out of hard plastic except the back was rubber. When you squeezed the rubber back the plastic grasshopper head would open up and a monster face would shoot out and shoot back in quick. This toy also came with a little 1 inch tall creature that looked like a cat head on two feet. Supposedly the monster face was suppoded to grab the cat head guy and pull it back in but it never worked. The box had pictures of other bugs that they made that were also monster weird things or whatever.
My brother had a toy made in the same line but with a different name that was basically a plastic rock formation. You would put the little cat head guy on a ledge and pull a lever. A monster head would flip up and the ledge would slide the cat head guy into it's mouth.
this one was way cooler because it acctually worked.
What is this thing called? I would love to buy one as my mother sold mine on a grage sale many years ago. It is not, I repeat, not Rock Lords. Rock lords were go-bots that turned into rocks and sucked. One of my friends thinks they were called "insectavoids" and "rocktoids" but I have never found such a thing on the internet. Does anyone know? Please post or e-mail me at mblissenbach@yahoo.com if anyone has any ideas at all.
thanks
