Sorry, but I gotta disagree w/ you on this one, ChuckyG. While corny (like "SS" above), "IEC" was a fun song - not to mention catchy! :-) I have a couple of import albums of theirs on cassette w/ the song, in addition to the original '83 U.S. 12" vinyl single! (They were British, and never released an album here in the U.S. Unfortunately, an EP was shelved by their U.S. label, Chrysalis, at the last minute!)

While some of the other picks were definitely wa-a-ay overplayed back in the day (e.g., "Mickey", "She Drives Me Crazy", etc.), I can pretty much say the same thing...

That's an interesting point. By counting, 1990 is the last year of the decade that began with 1981, but shouldn't "the 80s" refer to 1980 to 1989?

That video was one of the first ones played by MTV and in regular rotation. That was what helped boost "Rap" as a music genre into the mainstream. DJ Fab 5 Freddie was included in Debbie Harry's video.

It was a guy. The song's actually well done, in my opinion,  and the music original. The only thing wrong with it, is the fact that it gets ridiculously overplayed everywhere where there's an opportunity to have 80's music played.  :-/
