In the 80s Jovi was definitely a hair band....not now. Now they are contemporary rockers....but in the 80s? Oh yeah! Nothin' but hair band.....why else would Rolling Stone and CNN report it when Jon cut his hair?

My fave hair band? BON JOVI!!

You know, I liked the glam too, I must admit.  I was hooked when I first saw Motley Crue (Too young to fall in love) with the makeup and all.  Oh, those were the days.  These kids today don't have a clue what real music is about.  You turn on the radio and the songs all sound alike.

Of course, this is my humble opinion....

Bon Jovi WAS a hair band back in the 80's definitely.  But, definitely NOT now!!!  If you've noticed, they all cut their hair and don't wear makeup anymore and just released their 8th studio album - BOUNCE - with an updated sound!

I don't really put Motley Crue in the category of hair band.  There stuff was heavy.  I guess it's because the first time I saw them, they opened for Ozzy.  And, I definitely don't consider Ozzy in the hair band category.

Also I liked VVI, Warrant, Skid Row, TNT, Cinderella, Europe, and of course Def Leppard (though I heard parts from their new cd... :P..very sad)
I wouldn't consider Bon Jovi a hair band now, though I guess at the time they were...but I have always loved them too.

But, I'm pretty sure I couldn't ever remember them all--I was a 'hair band' addict !! ;D

That's funny, I thought the exact same thing after I posted it.

I tend to include them because they did have the hair (although not as poofy as some), but like White Lion, Extreme and Mr. Big, they were more musical than some of the Glam bands.

You named a bunch I like, too.  VVI, I can't believe I missed them.  I started listening to them when Mark Slaughter was the lead singer....that man made me drool...
