Subject: Band called Warp... I think?

Written By: stian73 on 09/09/02 at 04:59 p.m.

I remember a couple of song titles, and the cover of the LP. The cover was white, with black text all over, and a little red logo in the upper left corner, I think (might have been to the right...)

Two of the songs were "If the planet doesnt mind" and "Kingdom for horses".

I would love to get this (preferably in CD or MP3-format)

Anyone remember? Anyone know how to get it?

I often hammer my forehead to the table trying to find music on the net, not just the 80s but even 90s. Why isn't there a COMPLETE database with ALL music EVER published on every little obscure label... I wonder...

regards,
Stian

Subject: Nope, the band was called New Musik...

You're thinking of the British new-wave band, New Musik, and their 1982 album, titled Warp. It did indeed feature tracks titled "The Planet Doesn't Mind" and "Kingdoms for Horses", as well as a cover of The Beatles' "All You Need is Love". Although some of their recordings were released here in the U.S. in the early '80s, the Warp album was not among them; it came out in their native U.K. only. And apparently you're in luck: Late last year, it seems that Warp was finally re-issued on CD in Japan, which is the first time that album has ever been released in that format anywhere in the world.
