Subject: a song from an 80's movie
??? I need help finding a song from an 80's movie. I don't know what the movie is called, but it's mostly instrumental, with guitar and organ. I saw it on a movie one time but I didn't know the name. It was also on a Ford commercial in the USA about 2-5 years ago. I like this song very much, and I would appreciate anyone's help finding it. Thank you.

That's the problem. I don't know, but it looked like a drama.

I'm not sure, but I bet you're talking about the instrumental "Top Gun Anthem" from the movie "Top Gun." The number featured a mixture of Stevie Stevens' guitar lead and Harold Faltermeyer's keyboards and pretty much followed a repeating motif with variations.
Here's a link to the MP3 if you want to know if this is it.

Even if it isn't what you're looking for, I'm glad you made me think of it, because I loved it back in the late 80s. I need to get the album again.
:)

:'( Sorry that's not it. it's more upbeat and there's more organ in it and I remember hearing it on a Ford commercial about 3 years ago. Thanks anyways.

That is so weird. The one thing that made me sure it was the song you wanted was that I'm almost positive it was used in a commercial a few years ago, and I'm pretty sure it was for an American pick-up truck.
Anyway, I'm glad you reminded me of THAT song.

I'm guessing not many people look past the first page, so here I am trying to revive this topic. I would love it if someone could help me out. :) By the way the song has about the same tempo as "What I like about You" by the Romantics.

Since we're on the subject of songs from 80's movies, here's one that I've been wondering about. At the end of "The Last American Virgin", Gary (Lawrence Monoson) is seen driving away from a party after seeing Karen and Rick (Diane Franklin and Steven Antin) hook up at the party. In this final scene, there is a song playing just as the credits begin to roll. What is that song?
