Subject: Footloose!
In Australia, bookings will be taken starting from tomorrow for this musical based on the movie.
For some reason the recent craze to come out of Japan for dancing games reminds me of this :)

My sisters doing this play for the community playhouse here. A lot of the songs have been altered, some for the better (I need a Hero), and some for the worse (Footloose).
She also told me the play is a lot different than the movie, which I understand, because some of the stuff in the movie is not possible on a stage.

Hey there Mr G
What are your thoughts on the casting ?
Rob Guest - ye old stand by for whatever is going at the time - I could have thought of several other actors who would have fitted the "crazed religious music banning father".
Penny Cook - I think she is paying Rens Mum. Havent seen her on stage for many years but she is back on TV in Young Lions.
Spencer Maclaren: hmmmm I have really only seen him as Ritchie in Secret Life so I have no idea what his singing and dancing is like.
They are the only names I have seen in WA press - do you know anymore ??
And shock horror - I heard it was doing a national tour - that may (just may) include WA !!!!

Damn! Why wasn't I informed of the casting call?? I gotta fire my agent!!
"Tonight I gotta cut loose...footloose...kick off your Sunday shoes..."
Subject: Re: Footloose!
Jonman - if you are willing to travel to Aus - I will personally kidnap Spencer so you can take on the Ren role !!!!!

To be honest, I actually haven't paid much attention since I don't plan to attend.
But Guest and Cook seem reasonable people. I don't know anything about Maclaren, as I don't watch TSLOU.
I looked up ticketmaster7's site, and found the following:
The Rev.'s wife is played by Trisha Noble, LKane Alexander plays Willard, Deone Zanotto plays Rusty, and Natalie Bassingthwaighte (she has done Sandy from Grease) plays Ariel.

thanks for the other cast info MrG - when I first looked up Ticketmaster7 there wasnt much info - they have really updated it now.
I will wait my patience as it will be YEARS before it gets to Perth !! Tho I am following Chris Isaak around the country in November so if it coincides with shows in any city I will definately see it and anything else that happens to be on.
