Subject: 80's movies
I don't know if someone started a thread for an 80's movies, but here goes.
I recently rented "Willow" an DVD the other day only because it was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I noticed it was by George Lucas, that was a surprise. The movie is great, has a great story board and the characters in it are even better. I like it soooooooo much more than Star Wars.
Another movie I liked was Breakin' parts 1 and 2. Remember it? It was a great break dancing movie with some breakj dancing gangs in it that disliked eaach other. The dude Turbo, he was awesome. And that chick Kelly, she got down too.
Well that's all for me. Welcome to the 80s movies thread.

one of my all time favorites (and I fanally found a copy of it) is Labyrinth w/ David Bowie as The Goblin King... also produced by George Lucas
(actually upon further review of the movie it was not 80's but early 90's - oops)

I love that movie also. Not to mention the cartoon Puff the Magic Dragon and the other show The Neverending Story. All were good shows. I didn't know Lucas also made Labyrinth, man what happened to him? He needs to come up with something as good besides Star Wars. Oh btw, for you people that don't know, AKA Sagnastian.

Willow was an excellent movie. I haven't seen it in ages.
Here are some I also liked:
Back to the Future
Trading Places
Cocoon
Beetlejuice
The Terminator
The Abyss....
And the list can go on and on. ;D

When I saw Willow I recognised Warwick Davies immediately. We were at the same college. I had known nothing of his career plans then so I was pretty amazed to see him on the screen! :D

Better Off Dead is my favorite 80's movie. (is anyone really surprised? ;D)

yeah i know it came as a surprise to me. George Lucas used to have more on his mind than pleasing his army of nerds that he has now. Another movie you might want to look at of his would be American Graffiti.

Labyrinth was released in 1986. I was 16 year old, and I loved that movie and can quote it by heart. I have the video tape (which I have had since 1989) and the DVD and the album soundtrack. The DVD does have a release date of 1994 on it for some reason and not the 1986, but the video tape has the 1986 release date on it. Here's a link to more about the movie:

Thats MissI! I was going to post that. I wasn't exactly sure of the date but I knew it had to be earlier than the 90s because Jennifer Connelly is only quite young in it (I think she was 16 when she made that but she plays a 12 year old).
