Subject: "EVERYTIME YOU GO AWAY"
Paul Young´s "Everytime you go away (you take a peace of me)" should be in the TOP of the 80's hit list, altough i agree "Take on me" its very strong too.

I agree, a lot of people that I know seem to think it's a great song. I don't know it well enough to be able to comment, however. I'll give it a listen first-off.

It was written by Daryl Hall. :) I like the way Daryl sings it. :)

Both of those tunes are very good. In my opinion, they could both be equally on top with one as a ballad and the other as 80's "new romantic" synth pop.
I liked Paul Young's "Come Back & Stay" too. ;)

I love that song! I think his earlier material is much better than "Everytime You Go Away". Have you ever heard "Love Of The Common People"? 8)

I really love Paul Young's "Love of the Common People" and "Come Back and Stay", two great 80s tunes! "Everytime You Go Away" is also a great song as well! :)

For some silly reason I always thought that line was "Living in the LAND of the common people". Like Gulliver's travels or something ;D

In light of recent "event", I was thinking that someone would write a parody called, "Every Time Banasy Goes Away". :D

Yes! Quite an excellent song. :)

I agree, a brilliant song. Unmatched by its Everly Brothers cover version.
Subject: Re: "EVERYTIME YOU GO AWAY"
Although "Everytime..." is a good song, I found myself getting rather burnt out on it during the 80's. It seemed like they played that song every 15 minutes during its heyday!
When it came to ballads, I was always more partial to "Missing You" by John Waite. ;)

You know, that wasn't even half as bad as it is today with todays music! :o Ahhh!!!
<Warping back to the 80's>.
Much better. :)
Paul Young also did, in the words of all music guide, "a timeless and sadly underrated" song called "Everything Must Change".
