I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Madonnas 'Immaculate Collection'.
I'll agree with Tarzan Boy on anything by The Smiths and Buzz on Beauty and The Beat. Talk Show was a pretty good album also, slightly pop-ier, but good all the same :)
