Subject: Your fav 80's commercials
ARRRGGGHH! I still sing the stupid RC-100 soda commercials (the RC-100's got nothing) as well as the Peter-Paul mounds/almond joy jingles... I think both came out in the 70s but they updated them to the sounds of the 80s
What commercials made you laugh or sing during the 80s? :D
Sometimes you feel like a nut....... sometimes you dont! :o

I knew the McDonald's sesame seed bun, special sauce commercial off by heart. At the time I thought I was cool ,now I know that is sad. LOL :-/

Can't remember if this was '80's. How about the Fig Newton song. That drove me nuts.
"Ooey gooey rich and chewy inside. Golden flakey, tender cakey outside....."
Now it's going to be stuck in my head all day. :-/

"you're not fully clean until you're zestfully clean"!

The same could be said for the "have it your way" Burger King Commercial. I used to sing that and make parody's of it (some were definately not nice :-X

Late 80s, and possibly into the early 90s... the Little Caesar "2 pizzas for 1 low price" commercials.
"Do you have two pizzas for 1 low price?"
"No, but we have 1 pizza and a box"
"What can I do with a box?"
"Origami" *folds the box many times*
"What's that?"
"A Pterodactyl. Aarck! Aarck! Aarck!"

Remember the "Levi's" animated commercials in the early 80's? There were about 3 or 4 slightly different ones that I've seen. Like on one I believe the word "Levi's" was in the center background, & there was a guy swinging on a rope towards it. Some of the letters opened like doors. Other than that, I can't remember too much. I think one might of had a UFO, or an alien in it somewhere. :P

I kinda liked anything with Ronald McDonald,Hamburglar("rubble,Rubble")and that big purple monster.I 4get his name.It was funny when The Hamburglar always stole hamburgers and hid them under his coat. -howard- 8)

Oh gosh, I loved those Lil' Caesar commercials, especially the one with the origami pterodactyl!!!
I would also have to mention the "Time to make the Donuts" guy for Dunkin' Donuts. There was one commercial when the guy dressed up like a woman to ask if the bakers at a competitor donut shop fresh baked their goods, all the while covering his mustache with his finger. Too funny!!! ;D

I miss those cereal commercials with Cookie crisp,Count Chocula,Franken Berry,Quisp,Boo Berry,Life Cereal,Wheat Chex,etc...You saw the cereal and you just had to go out and buy them.I wonder whatever became of FrankenBerry and Count Chocula cereals? I don't see my supermarket selling them anymore!I loved it.It had gobs of marshmallows.Ahhh,I miss sugar cereals in the morning. Now,My Family eats Cherrios,Corn Flakes, grain cereals. The last time I had sat down to eat a sugar cereal was almost 15 years ago when I was just 13. -howard- ;D

I remember a silly anti-drug commercial that my friends & I used to make fun of. It had a black guy who was a ventriloquist (did I spell that word right?) and his black dummy w/ a big curly afro. The dummy goes:
"Say nope to dope, and ugh to drugs."
My friends & I used to spend the day saying that phrase and laughing. I don't think that (well-meaning) commercial did anything at all to prevent kids from trying illegal drugs but it sure was funny.

Yes!!! I loved "Fred the Donut Guy"!!!! Remember he "retired" from the commercials for a while, then came back out for a short time? I think it was a publicity stunt, because shortly after he came out of retirement, he made public apprearances at some Dunkin Donuts openings.
He came to the opening of a new Dunkins in my town, but I couldn't get out of work to see him. :(
Subject: Re: Your fav 80's commercials
Yep Fred was cool Xena, I still remember the original one, "time to make the donuts"
Subject: Re: Your fav 80's commercials
The Crash Test Dummies PSA
"Apple Smacks" cereal (whatever they were called)
All I actually remember and liked...
A mid '80's Pepsi commercial that took place in the "future".
"Mandee's" (saw on "Before They Were Rock Stars"...don't ask)
