Ghost stories could have been made up (like at summer camps), actual stories....events....poltergiests....facts....or based on true stories/movies ect. :o :o ;)

I remember alot of the classic 'urban legend' stories going round in the 80's.

There was a "ghost story" thread in the Playful Penguin Palace not long ago.

The one thing that happened to me in the 80's is not technically a "ghost" story, but it is still very scary.

One night I had a horrible nightmare about two boys in our social circle.  They were on a ship at sea, and were caught in a storm.  The ship was rocking, and they were both up on a mast for some reason.  Suddenly they fell off the mast, and in the dream one boy died of a broken neck, and the other seemed to land gently, but his face was all covered with blood.  I woke up screaming at 1am.

The next morning, I was woken up by my downstairs neighbor, who was sobbing and crying.  The night before, the same two boys had died for real.  One had died of a broken neck, and the other was thrown through the windshield, cutting his face terribly.  The accident was a 2am, one full hour after I dreamed about it! :o :o :o :o

Not only was I devastated by the loss of two friends, but I was freaked out by the realization that I knew of their deaths before it happened.

i don't have any, but my cousin who is 26 dreamt that the next day he would help an old lady. guess what....he did :o a few years later, my cousin and I were watching TV and I thought "that character is sooo annoying!". he said, "yeah, I know." :o

In High School we used to go to this camp every year. It was in the middle of nowhere in the  Quebec mountains. One night the owner told us a story about the old owners from years back. The guy caught his wife and fixer upper guy having sex in one of the cabins. He stabbed them both over 50 times. We all slept in the dining room that night, there was no way we were going outside after  that. I still don't know if it was true.

We would tell the stories of La Llorona or Bloody Mary.
