Subject: Anyone seen 'Not Another Teen Movie' ?
Was just wondering what everyone thought of the spoof, especially the 'Breakfast Club', 'Pretety In Pink' and 'Sixteen Candles' bits which were mocked. I actually quite enjoyed it as I knew all of the John Hughs films, plus all of the modern ones also. I was very surprised to see that very same actor who played the teacher in 'The Breakfast Club' there, but even more shocked to see Molly Ringwald pop up! Any comments?

Honestly, I just didn't like it. Some of the bits mocking different old movies were funny, but overall I was bitterly disappointed when we saw it. If it had just been jokes on the 80's stuff, which is what I thought it was going to be, I would have liked it much better. Frankly I have no sense of humor about all the sex and potty humor that seems all the rage in "teen movies" nowadays.
But, that's just my take on it. :)

I really wanted to do a page listing out all the bits in the movie, but I have yet to pick it up or see it.. I'm surprised no one has brought the movie up before now, guess it didn't do well in the theater...

I saw this in the movies and did get a big kick out of all the parodies of 80s movies, music and pop culture!!! I thought it was a blast!!!

I thought the 'Anthony Michael Dining Hall' was a nice touch.

If it had only mocked 80s films it would have halved its audience market. By mocking 90s films as well, it guaranteed twice as many people would go see it. I thought it was funny in places, but like most films like this it was patchy, at best.

Yeah - very subtle :) I was eagerly anticipating to see the film as soon as I heard that the school was called 'John Hughes High School'!
The film has only just come out in the cinema over here in England - I don't know how long it's been since it was out in the US.
