Subject: '80s heavy metal
Hello everyone, I'm new to these boards, so please forgive me if this thread has been done before. I'm just curious to see if there are any heavy metal fans out there. If so, what are your favorite bands of the '80s?
Mine are:
Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, Helloween, Scorpions, Danzig, AC/DC, Anthrax, Megadeth, Metal Church, Testament, Exodus, Dio, etc.

Welcome, Eddie! I like Van Halen/Hagar, Def Leppard, The Cult, Megadeth, Warrant, Ratt, Cinderella, Judas Priest, Led Zepplin (The Pioneers Of Heavy Metal, IMO) Ozzy, Tesla, and up until about 2 years ago, before loser Lars started whining about Napster, Metallica. There are many more, that at this moment, escape me ??? I know some bands may not be considered "Metal" but to me they ALL Rock :) Once Again.........
WELCOME, EDDIE!

I like heavy metal myself. I had a sister-in-law who was fond of Mötley Crüe.

Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, Scorpions, Danzig, AC/DC, Megadeth, Testament, Lita Ford, Queensryche.
a couple of Winger songs
a couple of Warrant songs
a couple of Great White
The last 3 listings are probably considered more Rock, as opposed to Metal.

I was a complete and utter Glam Queen in the 80's though I also loved heavier stuff like Anthrax,Armoured Saint,Overkill,Metallica,Helloween(saw all except Armoured Saint live).Strangly I was never really into English heavy metal considering I live here, only the odd song by people like Iron Maiden otherwise bleurgh.

How about these smaller bands? Y&T, Fastway, Dokken, Zebra, Krokus, Tommy Bolin.. Frank Marino I know that some of these are "borderline" metal artists, but I have various metal artists albums with them on it...

...is Iron Maiden where the "Eddie" handle comes from?
Good bands - it's easier to list the ones I haven't seen play live: Helloween (though I'd like to - Keeper of the seven keys is a superb album), Slayer, Danzig, Metal Church and Testament. But I must admit to being completely underwhelmed by Megadeth live.
Welcome to the Forum (hey, d'you think there might be a parody there ;-) )
