Mine was 1983, David Bowie ('Let's Dance' album) and the ticket price was $13.00 :o.
I haven't been to a (major) concert since '87, for U2's 'Joshua Tree' tour, and am blown away by today's ticket prices!!
Sincerely Yours,
Old Fogie ;)

More than like the only rock concert I'll ever attend. The Rollings Stones "Steel Wheels" tour of 1986 (I believe). I went with my dad, a very big Stones' fan at the time. It was fun, but there was a lot of standing, and pushing and shoving. There were also pot smokers behind us. And the police tried to arrest the troublemakers in the nosebleed section. :)

'82 or '83 (WAY back in the day). Pat Benatar. Saw her again about 8 years ago - that girl can still rock! A group named Saga was her opening band in the 80's - Madison Square Garden practically booed them off the stage! The title of their one big hit back then is escaping me.

Hehehe... I saw "Sha Na Na" at a concert venue that closed when I was in elementary school, but I was only like 2 years old. First concert I willingly went to (I think) was Huey Lewis & The News. I remember the Neville Brothers opened for him and they were terribly boring.

Subject: Re: Your First Concert?
I know it was Aerosmith, but I'm not sure of the year. It was sometime in the early '80's, before all of them were clean and sober. It wasn't the best show I ever saw.
I went to see them again about five years later, (after they were all clean and sober) and it was one of the best concerts I've seen. (Andreas Vollenwieder edged them out by a hairsbreadth).
Subject: Re: Your First Concert?
Heart with Bourgeois Tagg in Chapel Hill, NC. It was two days before Halloween and Heart came out on a dark stage carrying jack-o-lanterns and marching around all druid-like. Then they commenced to kickin' major butt on stage.
