Subject: Another music question - please help
Written By: SilentG on 05/17/02 at 02:00 p.m.
I have another question, one that's equally if not more arcane and oblique:
I don't know how I could have been so far off with the years for the song by Jeffrey Osborne, but the other song I'm trying to track down is definitely not later than 1981 (I hope that for my sake it isn't earlier than 1980 - I wouldn't want the 70's police to nail me).
All I can say is that it was a New Wave song, it got pretty heavy airplay in Vancouver, Canada (which isn't conclusive, unfortunately), and it was remarkably similar to the Londonbeat song "I've Been Thinking About You". The chord progression (which is a little weird) was almost exactly the same, and the hook had a similar melody and intonation. From what I remember, tho, it wasn't a dance tune.
Any ideas?
