I found inthe80s.com when I was doing research for a DJ project I had to do when I was in college.  I had to do an 80s segment for a "fake" radio broadcast, and I found EVERYTHING I needed on this site.  This is one of the most comprehensive sites out there, I highly recommend it for your project.  Inthe80s.com ROCKS!!!

Edit: Um, typo!

Actually the WWF pretty much exploded on the scenes in the 80s. Prowrestling had been around for about a century before then (and for the first 40-50 years or so, it was entirely real). Vince McMahon, Jr. turned it into the Sport-Entertainment empire it is today starting in the late 70's with Andre the Giant then in the 80s (Vince pretty much invented Pay-Per-View with Wrestlemania.) Perhaps the biggest push WWF received though was when Wrestlemania III occured with Andre the Giant vs. Hulk Hogan as the headliner. "Hulkamania" became a worldwide concept and the WWF became big business not only in their arena events, but also on tv shows (including a cartoon and non-wrestling shows like the A-Team and T&T(Mr. T), action figures, cereal, and movie deals--The Princess Bride (Andre the Giant), Rocky III (Mr. T, Hulk Hogan), They Live (Roddy Piper), Running Man, Predator, and at least one other movie with Jesse Ventura, Hogan's various movies (one of which also included Undertaker as a villian), and some others (the Ultimate Warrior, for example, was also in a movie)...

D@mmit, why are we all of a sudden getting respectful and polite kids asking for help on projects? I can't very well get righteously indignant and get creative with history in response to THEM, can I?

I vividly remember kids skateboarding down my highschool hallways. Yes, it was definitely popular and the "extreme" versions of today were already being seen then.

WWF was popular in the seventies, even. I remember my Grandmother watching it and being terrified of the scary mean men.

Have you checked out break dancing? That was painfully eighties and reached legend status.

Yeah, to quote Shane Helms: "What's up with that?!" As far as Scott Hall being gone, he was on Raw 2 days ago... last time I saw Kurt Henning was a week or two ago...

Yeah they were released from the WWE for their behavior.

Scott Hall - He was comming back from the UK tour and he was showing up to the shows drunk and pretty much the whole time he was over there he whas drunk. Then during the plane ride home he was dosing off and passing out. Then on RAW he showed up Drunk off his ass and RAW was his last show.

Mr Perfect - I think the story was that Brock Lesnar and he were talking about who the better amture wrestler was and then it turned into a huge brawl when Curt got annoying so Brock lost his temper and they then went by the emergency exit on the plane and if they had done sommat really stupid well they'd both be dead.

Well that's no surprise given Hall's history. I thought it was funny the way they always had him handling, but not drinking, Austin's beer. Guess that means it will be another 2 or 3 years before we see him again...

You know what also happened? From what I heard Eddie Guerreo was a little tipsy and he cut Michael Hayes'mullet. And I think Goldust was involved in it as well.Man,The WWF is at a downfall at this moment.Oh,Wait a minute...I got to take the"F"Out....WWE. -howard- :)

Acctually i think that it was Bradshaw who was the one that cut the mullet. Heays was in Bradshaws face and he then punched Bradshaw in the forehead which opened up a gash Bradshaw recieved in a recent event. Bradshaw then Knocked out Heays.

Acctually Angle did challange Brock since he is the NCAA Champion Angle won and is in 100% and thinking of going into the 2004 Olympics.
