'Real Genius' is great; I'll add another Val Kilmer movie I liked - 'Top Secret!'

'Can't Buy Me Love' was another little-mentioned 80's teen movie I liked.  Amanda Peterson was very pretty...she seemed to drop out of the motion picture scene soon after this movie.  Wonder what happened to her...

I really liked 'Pee Wee's Big Adventure'.  Yeah, it's stupid, but it's pure brainless fun. ;-).

There was a movie called "American Gothic". Has anyone else ever seen it before? I thought it was pretty funny, even though it was supposed to be scary. :)

"Millennium"
"Leviathan"

Both of these are from 1989 and are excellent!  :D

"Irreconcilable Differences" - My dad took my brother, sister and me to this right after separating with my mom.  I wasn't too keen on that.

"Vice Versa" - Loved this one!  It was on Comedy Central this past weekend!

"Gung Ho" (Michael Keaton)

"Morgan Stewart's Coming Home" (Jon Cryer)

...come to think of it, the other movies I listed were ones my dad took me to see on my birthday whenever they were in the theater...

One of my favorites of all-time  :) It was Keatons first movie before he hit it big the very next year with Mr. Mom, right?

"The Last Starfighter" with Lance Guest and Catherine-Mary Stewart.  Saw it in the theater, and when it came out on cable I think I watched it at least 14 more times (I think I was really bored that summer.)

I had to watch "Dream A Little Dream" with the Coreys about 3 times to finally get it...and to see Meredith Salenger.  (Nice to see her on "Dawson's Creek;" she hasn't aged a bit!)  :)

The first time I saw it, I thought it was pretty funny but then they came out with II and it was, IMHO, just pathetic...that made me think less of the first one,  and so in a around-about way I guess I really don't like it much after all.  As for Andrew McCarthey though, I really enjoyed him and the movie "Mannequin" from '87  ;)

Speaking of Andrew McCarthy..."Less Than Zero"...I thought it was a good flick although I expect mixed reviews on this one.

Movies we loved and my Mom couldn't stand:

Strange Brew - Bob & Doug McKenzie
Saturday the 14th - total send-up of horror flicks that no one else seems to remember
Six Pack - Kenny Rogers, and then little-known Diane Lane & Anthony Michael Hall.  Although this could be late 70s, I'm not sure.
Stroker Ace - Burt & Loni in stock cars

Gee, these are all "S" movies.  What's up wit dat?!
