Subject: 80's article for BBC website
Hey guys - any members who have been here since at least November may remember me saying I was writing an article on the 80's fashion and music revival. I basically wrote this for English, but last week my Media teacher told me that the BBC want students to write articles for their website, and I have been selected to submit my 80's article!
I'm absolutly extatic about it, as I really do want a career in magazine journalism. I felt I had to tell you all as you guys have helped me in so many ways, whether indirectly or directly with my knowledge of the 80's. At college, people now call me 80's girl!! :)
I need to update my article slightly as I did write it in Decemeber, so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of something about fashion or music which you feel I must include. I am sticking to the the basis of the previous article, but I just need a few suggestions, if you don't mind :)

Well, I don't have any ideas for you, but I just want to say congratulations! That is so cool! :D When will your article be on there?

I might have some ideas, but I'd have to have a look at what you've already got. Any chance I could see your current article?

Thanks Jessica. I will let you know when it is on the website, but it should be there in less than a couple of months.
Kryllith, I will post you my article in a private message as I've allready started writing it in there to you! :)

;D First of all congratulations. ;D
I'll start with music. There was all different kinds of music. There was Glam Metal, Hair Metal, but in my opinion they are all the same. They would be bands like RATT, BonJovi, Poison, Def Leppard. Then we had Thrash or Speed Metal. Bands Like Metallica, Megadeth. Heavy Metal bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dio. Alot of girl bands like Bananarama, The GOGO's, The Bangles. Then we also had some good old Rock and Roll. Bands like Huey Lewis and The News, Brian Adams, Eddie Money. Side note on Eddie Money. Before he became and Rock and Roller he was a New York city Cop. There was also the New Wave genre. i think Bananarama and the GOGO's would be in that genre. It was without a dought a great decade for music. I liked it all. What a great time to be a teenager.
Now for fashion. Since I really wasn't into fashion I don't know to much about it. But there was bandanas, they could be worn almost anywhere on the body. I liked to wear them around my wrist or tied around my neck. I also had the guts to wear one around my right thigh. There was also the black rubber braclets. Thin ties. Denim jackets torn to shredds. Jeans torn to shreds. High top leather sneakers untied of course. Then there was the Don Johnson look.

Thanks for the info. I allready have quite a bit of what you mentioned, included in the article. For music I haven't mentioned hair metal bands as the article was aimed at teenage girls for my English coursework. Although, now that it is going to be viewed by not only girls, I should include something on it. I don't really know all that much about it really, as it's not really my thing. Its probably the one genre of 80's music that I really know very little about!
