At the risk of standing confused, I have totally forgotten who John Cusack is...

Joan Cusack's brother :)

Sadly I can't remember a lot of movies from the 80s that he was in (though he did play one of the preppy guys that picked on the main characters in Weird Science).  He was also in The Grifters, Grosse Point Blank, Being John Malkovich, and numerous others...

I think John would look good sitting in the Oval Office. But we've got to chose an appropriate First Lady for him, you know!!!  ;) John and Julia Roberts sure had nice chemistry in America's Sweethearts!!!  ;)

Is this a serious campaign for the Presidency or a cheap stunt like the Tom Laughlin (Billy Jack), Pat Paulsen, Howard Stern "candidacies"? ??? I don't see how a Hollywood star can become President. (Sorry Mr. Reagan).

Speaking of presidential campaigns...I happened to catch John's brief stint in 'Bob Roberts' last night on one of the Skinemax channels.  Interesting movie.  Tim Robbins is pretty clever.

'Better off Dead' is one of my favorite 80's movies.  Lane Meyer is such a stud...he manages to win back the cute blonde (who he then tosses aside for the French chick), wins that race down the K2 (or whatever it's called ) while on one ski and being chased by the paper boy, does a candlelight dinner for his lady at the restaurant he worked at, and kisses his lady on the hood of his car at home plate in Dodger Stadium.

If those aren't credentials for a great leader, what more are you asking for??

amen, sister...

oh, and, this is off topic, but I was reading that Ronald Regan is going to be 91? Gee whiz, that means he was prez in his 70'S???? this blew me away, I hadn't realized way back then, truly, that that is just way old to be the leader of the "free" world, no?
